great tutorial man, except err... i kind of lost you after the extrude part... just got a new version of c4d today and its making me feel like an idiot :cries:

on a positive note: canadian people talk so damn cool  =p

ill try to figure out the extrude thing... i doubt ill get it right but whatever, great video anyway man :D!!!!

i think it was just the new version of c4d that was confusing me.. but im still not sure why it didnt make little pipe looking objects (like you made) after i did the extrude and pushed delete.. oh well, i just went along with what it did.. then i got a little too into finishing it and lost serious track of time.. and now its 3:30 am.. oops.

ill try to have something finished by sometime tonight... if youre curious to see my result =P

but its a really good way of making abstracts... better than just selecting polygons and using matrix extrude

Yea it's a little better then that :P I'd like to see you results when you get it finished.

:cries: i think i finally give up on this one..:(

i dunno, the first time i tried it the object came out very big and clunky.. tried to make it again maybe 3 more times, the the 3rd one came out better than the others but not as good as i would of liked it to. I'll try this again once i get the hang of c4d again :|

anyways, this is still a great tut :)

Can someone help me with something? I get to the part where you're supposed to extrude and delete, but C4D does it all wrong.

Examples: [link] [link]

Just to clarify, I didn't select any polygons before I extruded.

C4d is doing it right but your doing it wrong, just select different polys and then extrude them and hit delete, just be random and hope for the best.
